Salisbury Contemporary Craft is the new-look event for Salisbury based in the magnificent setting of the medieval cloisters and Cathedral, an iconic environment recognised throughout the world.
This is a chance to explore and buy exquisite and beautifully hand-crafted pieces from some of our nation’s best contemporary craft makers and designers.
Come and browse a range of high quality items made by skilled jewellers, potters, textile artists and more. Buy that special gift for someone special or perhaps even treat yourself. And take part in some workshops run by expert craft makers and artists in a full programme of participation and exploration of the extensive world of contemporary craft and design.
Established Designers and Makers
Salisbury Contemporary Craft is open to craft designers and makers resident in the UK and Ireland who work to the highest standard in ceramics, glass, textiles, jewellery, metal, wood, plastics, mixed media, stone, leather, recycled materials and paper.
We do not accept photography, graphic design or musical instruments. Greetings cards are acceptable only as part of a range, but not as the sole or main product.
New Designers and Makers
A limited number of spaces are also available (at a subsidised rate) to craft makers and designers who have been in business for less than 1 year.
We are doing this because we want to support fledgling careers in the craft industry as well as encourage and promote the wealth of creative talent we have in the UK. The criteria are the same as for the established businesses with the addition that you are a graduate (students still in education at 29 March 2017 deadline may not apply) or you are in your first 1 year of trading (i.e. the new business commenced after 29 March 2016).
Please note that if you are in your first year of trading but wish to apply for the ‘established’ category as well, please do.
Selection Criteria
All applications to the craft event will be reviewed, with a firm decision being fed back to all applicants by Wednesday 12 April 2017. It is vital therefore that you apply as early as possible after applications open.
