AA2A - Artists Access to Art Colleges

Town: Sunderland, York, Preston, Chester, Stoke-on-Trent, Derby, Loughborough, Cambridge, High Wycombe (more places possible - see website for full list)

Who: Applicants must have at least 1 years professional practice and must able to work with minimal technical support as training is not offered. Some MA/PhD students can apply immediately after graduation (some BA grad places may be offered). Creatives on AA2A schemes run from 2019-20 or before can now reapply

When: Placements offer at least 100 hours of access from Oct 2022 to April 2023 at the earliest, with many offering extensions. Normally, there will be 4 to 6 places available at each HEI. Payments: AA2A has an Artists Support Fund to cover travel, childcare and some materials costs (up to £350 for artists on benefits, and £250 if income is below £12,000 a year). This fund also includes a small disability budget. AA2A particularly welcomes applications from artists with disabilities, from culturally diverse backgrounds and non-graduates

Details: In exchange for access to facilities, AA2A Creatives are asked to propose ways in which their presence will benefit students, e.g., technical demonstrations or talks about their work. Creatives would not be asked to do this more than three times during their placement. Many host institutions offer exhibitions as part of their scheme. All artists will have a web profile on our website to document their project
