Wanted: Membership Secretary for Society of Jewellery Historians (SJH)

With the imminent retirement of the Membership Secretary after four years of valued service SJH are seeking expressions of interest for this role.

The position of Membership Secretary involves keeping up-to-date records of the membership and dealing with subscriptions, both for new members and renewals. The Secretary is also responsible for providing a current list of members to the printers of Jewellery History Today three times a year, occasional emailings to the full membership list, and ad hoc sales of past copies of JHT and Jewellery Studies.  The Membership Secretary is supported by, and works very closely with, the Hon.Treasurer, Web Manager, and Editor of JHT.

The ideal person will be, literate, numerate and very well organised, with some knowledge of the jewellery field. Computer skills, common sense and some financial acumen are necessary.  It would be helpful to live within reach of London, but not essential. The role would probably suit someone who currently works from home, is self-employed or recently retired.

The Society would be delighted to hear from any ACJ members who feel that they could help SJH in this capacity. A modest remuneration is offered.
