Call for Applications: Marshwood Arts Awards 2017

The Marshwood Arts Awards 2017 is the fourth in a series that began in 2008. Designed to support and highlight creativity across the Arts, the Awards are divided into categories.

Artists are invited to submit work to any one (or more) of the categories and the relevant judge will select three artists from that category to exhibit in a high-profile mixed exhibition at the Bridport Arts Centre.

  • Painting & Drawing
  • Photography & Digital Media
  • Sculpture
  • Applied Arts
    (to include products such as: Furniture & Works in Wood, Ceramics & Glass, Fashion & Textiles, Jewellery, Metalwork and Decorative Arts)

To Enter

Please email images of up to 6 individual works per category (one image per work) to 
info@marshwoodvale.com.

These images should represent a body of work as artists will be selected on their complete entry, not on individual pieces.

Please put Arts Award 2017 in the Subject header.

Each Digital image should be no larger than 3MB.

Please attach the following information for each work:

  • Category
  • Title
  • Medium
  • Measurements in cms

Please also provide an artist statement of a maximum of 100 words, plus all contact details to include telephone, email and mailing address.

Fees

Cost of entry £15 per category (maximum 6 works can be entered in each category).

Terms and Conditions

  • Judging will take place at the end of September 2017 by Tom Hammick, Matilda Temperley, David Worthington, John Makepeace and Harriet Wallace Jones.
  • The work will be presented to them anonymously.
  • Selected artists from each category will be invited to exhibit a selection of work alongside work by the judges at Bridport Arts Centre, South St, Bridport from 4th November to 2nd December 2017.
  • Art work will need to be delivered to the Bridport Art Centre on Monday October 30th.
  • Works will be transported and insured at the risk of the individual exhibitors.
  • All entrants will be invited to an awards ceremony on Friday 3rd November.
  • The Marshwood Arts Awards reserve the right to refuse any piece of work for any reason.
  • The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Artists entering this award agree to make a body of their work available for exhibition in Bridport Art Centre in November and December 2017.
  • The work will be for sale unless otherwise agreed and a gallery commission of 35% will be charged on sales.
