11th Muir Trust Residency

The Muir Trust invites applications from established, mid-career, UK-based studio artists who wish to develop their creative practice by working with the County Museum collections.

The 20 day residency will be based in Aylesbury during the period 18 September to 27 October 2017.

We are looking for an artist to select items from the varied collections in store and respond to these through their own medium to create new readings and interpretations. The artist will have a studio in the museum to display the selected exhibits and develop their own artistic responses. The residency is followed by an exhibition illustrating this creative process and finished work for sale.

Applicants must have a developed personal style and be at a point in their career where they want the opportunity to re-invigorate their practice. Your work must be suitable for demonstration and execution in a museum environment within the given timescale. You must be able to engage with visitors about your work and inspirations. Open studio sessions, a workshop for adults and a public talk are required.

Fee
An award of £3,000 will be paid, plus an allowance for subsistence/travel expenses.
