The newly established Loewe Foundation Craft Prize launched earlier this year with the aim to recognize emerging artisans, has announced the creation of the award’s winner’s trophy.

Designed and made by Alex Brogden, it was engraved by Graham Saggers at the Goldsmiths Centre.

The award, sponsored by the Loewe Foundation, was created in an effort to magnify the beauty and importance of original and handmade products. Craftpersons of any medium are encouraged to submit their applications to the award. Fourteen finalists will be selected for an exhibition in Madrid, after a panel of judges select the winning entry, scheduled for April, 2017. The winner will claim a prise of €50,000 in cash as well as the Craft Prize Trophy.
