Online retailer jewellerybox has partnered up with local women’s refuges in the South London area for International Women’s Day. The handful of refuges that they are supporting, which will remain unnamed for reasons of discretion, are all charities which provide support and accommodation to women and children who are victims of domestic violence.

jewellerybox will be donating a minimum of one piece of jewellery to the refuges for every piece that is sold from their International Women’s Day collection from the 8-11of March. The pieces within the collection are dainty and affordable, using symbols such as knots and interlocking symbols to represent strength, support and togetherness.

The company, based in London, are invested in helping their fellow Londoners. Whilst they know that jewellery will not be a top priority to women in shelters, they hope that it will make a nice gift to those going through troubling times.

Director Alex McMillan, 34, said “jewellerybox is proud to be partnering up with some wonderful refuges local to the business, and we are pleased that we will be able to bring a smile to these

women and children’s faces by giving them a little gift when they need it most. We are excited to be supporting and encouraging our customers to do their bit for those that need support by just buying one piece of jewellery that won’t break the bank.”

Earlier this year jewellerybox partnered with recycling app reGAIN, which exchanges unwanted clothes for retailer discounts, ensuring they get recycled. They aim to do much more charity work throughout the rest of 2019, helping local organisations and other London-based charities.
