Informa Markets, the world’s largest exhibitions organiser, and Atelier Technology, the leading technology provider in the jewellery supply chain, are pleased to announce they have entered into a strategic cooperation that aims to create growth opportunities for the jewellery community through a carefully tailored digital service that leverages their combined strengths, technologies and industry relationships.

Under the partnership, Informa Markets’ jewellery vertical — Informa Markets Jewellery — and Atelier will launch a platform centred on digital product meetings, which will endure as a valuable service beyond the pandemic. With Atelier Technology's network of over 1,000+ retailers, brands and their supply chains, and Informa Markets Jewellery’s global reach and deep industry knowledge, the partnership is poised to create the industry’s largest and most engaging anchor digital trade events that could help drive business results. The first virtual event is scheduled for 27-29 October.

“We strongly believe that digital will enrich our physical exhibitions and empower both exhibitors and buyers to have more efficient meetings. Atelier’s technical and supply chain expertise is a strong complement to Informa Markets Jewellery’s strength as the world’s leading jewellery events organiser,”  said David Bondi, Senior Vice President, Informa Markets in Asia.

“For our partners, clients and loyal visitors, fusing the digital world with physical shows will open up vast opportunities for business growth, most especially in times of change like these.”

Informa Markets Jewellery’s portfolio consists of 13 events in nine key cities; a jewellery database that covers more than 1.35 million buyers and suppliers from over 150 countries and regions; content capabilities driven by its Jewellery Media team, and a prestigious awards platform that brings together the best and the brightest people in the industry.

The partnership will enable sellers to tap into Atelier’s advanced digital capabilities, including custom digital catalogues, assortment management solutions and personalised showroom technology, to present new collections virtually. Retail and trade buyers will likewise be able to discover, connect and do business with new suppliers and brand partners more easily and efficiently through a best-in-class attribute search, and receive relevant product recommendations from Atelier’s powerful machine learning algorithms.

“Both Atelier and Informa Markets Jewellery are market leaders, and we are excited to power the largest global digital platform for the jewellery industry,”  said Dominic Hill, Founder and CEO of Atelier Technology.

“Our partnership marks a defining moment in the evolution of our industry: Firstly, by solving urgent customer needs at a critical time when the world is trying to recover trading yet freedom of movement is restricted. Secondly, the changes people are experiencing today are the beginning of a new era, which will redefine the trade show experience as a hybrid between online and offline for the jewellery market, just as we have seen in retail already.”

Informa Markets Jewellery and Atelier hope to champion and inspire change towards the true digitalisation of the industry. The platform will unite the industry and soon be expanded to include new digital events, categories and regions bringing to light major opportunities available to forward-thinking suppliers, jewellery brands, retailers and professional buyers who embrace a hybrid future of B2B jewellery commerce.

“The jewellery community will reap the most benefits from this new digital event service, which is a natural and powerful extension of our physical fairs,” added Celine Lau, Director of Jewellery Fairs at Informa Markets Jewellery.

“Working in partnership with Atelier, we have the flexibility and capability to adapt, learn and improve. Expect us to deliver an enhanced online platform with AI capability, edition after edition. Those improvements will be based on what our exhibitors and visitors want.”
