A new museum devoted to all things sausage dog, a new world record for the largest number of sausage dogs in one place and now a unique sausage dog jewellery collection, which like the dog itself is both feisty and cute.

British jewellery house Henryk, well known for their animal designs, have launched a range of four elegant Dachshund pendants and necklaces, riding on the back of a wiener craze that is currently  sweeping the world.

All pieces are made from sterling silver and decorated mainly with amber so we have a sausage silver body and amber ears, a sausage silver body with amber eyes and one has the gemstone for its body. Or you could have a sausage dog made just from silver.

Henryka’s design ideas are rooted in retail activity so if customers ask for bees, they can have bees. If it’s dragonflies, they can have them or if they want Kingfishers, that’s what they get.

It was the Kingfisher pendant, set with natural milky and cognac amber with reconstituted turquoise encased in silver, that started a Birds trend so customers have been able to purchase woodpeckers, blue tits, robins and puffins among other species.

Craze for Sausage Dogs - world records, dachshund museum and Henryka pendants

“Henryka is well-loved for its nature-inspired pieces, especially our birds, bees and other insects,” said Henryka sales manager Hollie Francis.

“But in recent months we have noticed lots of interest in our more unusual animal pieces, including the Dachshund necklaces, elephant designs and, of course, our hugely successful Stag Collection.

“As we continue to diversify our sterling silver collections, we look forward to seeing what resonates with our portfolio of retail partners next.”

All suggestions welcomed for future designs. How about a hamster? What about a walrus? Tip in a Toucan? Offer up an octopus?
