As the high street sees a sharp rise with in-store presence for retail jewellers, Studex UK Ltd and Inverness Safe and Gentle Ear Piercing will show at Jewellery & Watch 2020 to offer advice to retailers looking for a new revenue stream without online competition.

Two leading suppliers of ear-piercing systems for the UK jewellery retail sector will exhibit at Jewellery & Watch 2020 from February 2-6.

The teams behind Studex UK Ltd and Inverness Safe and Gentle Ear Piercing will offer on-site demonstrations, insights and advice into this trending retail solution, which has undergone significant growth in the last 12 to 18-months.

Studex (Hall 1: Stand 1G90) was established in the United States over 40 years ago and now has offices in 40 countries. Its Studex System 75 is available with a wide range of 18ct, 14ct and 9ct gold earrings, as well as titanium, surgical grade stainless steel, and 24ct gold plated options set with CZs, gemstones and diamonds.

Kathryn Darwin, commercial business manager of Studex UK Ltd, says:

“As a company we have seen an increase in interest in our systems over the past 18 months and are excited to meet new retailers to demonstrate our products and training programme.

“Adding ear and/or nose piercing to your business introduces a reason for customers to visit your store. As a service, it is not something that consumers can purchase online for next day delivery or click and collect.”

Elsewhere, service and solutions brands specialist, Goodman Bros, will present Inverness Safe and Gentle Ear Piercing (Hall 1: Stand 1E71) at Jewellery & Watch 2020, alongside Connoisseurs Jewellery and Watch Care and Lox Secure Earring Backs.

Inverness was established in 1974 to offer a safe, quick and sterile system for piercing ears in a retail environment. Inverness brand and training manager, Rebecca Thorn, says:

“You can’t pierce ears on the internet and pulling customers back into store rather than shopping online will increase footfall and sales not just in piercing but other product lines too. Having your ears pierced is a special moment and jewellers can create this for their customers with our help, making them a lifetime customer.”

Thorn adds:

“Piercing generates footfall and it creates loyalty: customers tend to return for their first pair of earrings and remember this key event. Consumers would prefer to have their ears pierced in a professional and trusted environment, which is where jewellers come in.”

Jewellery & Watch 2020 will host a range of businesses in its Jewellery Services & Solutions Sector, including packaging experts, point of sale and display specialists, software companies and tooling and machinery suppliers. Highlights include Clarity & Success, Pursuit Software Ltd, HS Walsh, Hewitt Jewellery Equipment, IWM Designs and Cleopatra Trading Ltd.
