On the 5th February 2019, Goldsmiths’ Hall is opening its doors once again to all students, tutors,  graduates and apprentices of the jewellery and allied trades to help them make their mark in industry.

This hugely popular free one day event led by the Goldsmiths’ Company Assay Office and supported by the Goldsmiths’ Company, is a one stop shop to learn everything you need to know about hallmarking, manufacturing and introduce you to the support networks available to help you in your career. This includes the range of support the Goldsmiths’ Company can offer new entrants to the trade such as training through the Goldsmiths’ Centre, its wonderful Library and of course hallmarking support through the Assay Office.

There is also a packed schedule of talks and demonstrations and the Make Your Mark Awards 2019, created to inspire students and graduates to celebrate the London hallmark. The Goldsmiths’ Company Assay Office is also offering an exclusive free hallmarking registration package for attendees that includes a free hallmarking punch (T&Cs apply).

Key elements of the event will include:

  • Free hallmark registration package*
  • Make Your Mark Awards exhibition
  • Hallmarking exhibition in the Goldsmiths’ Company foyer
  • High profile guest speakers
  • Careers expertise
  • Hallmarking surgery sessions
  • Services, suppliers and organisations
  • Stalls selling stones, bullion, tools and much more
  • Make Your Mark cafe to meet friends and colleagues

As official Media Partner, Benchpeg will have a stand at Make Your Mark. Benchpeg has supported the industry for over 20 years and in particular, those making their first steps into the industry. We have done this through our weekly newsletter, careers advice, jobs boards, funding opportunities to mention just a few and are delighted to support this event.

At this year’s Make Your Mark, benchpeg will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about careers in the industry, help signpost you to industry supporters within Make Your Mark and will be inviting our subscribers to come along and take a fun #benchpegselfie at the the Goldsmiths’ Company Assay Office’s instabooth and win a chance to be featured in the newsletter.  So don’t forget to wear your jewellery on the day and we look forward to meeting you!
