Artist-in-Residence, The Art Room - South East

Application for the £10,000 Alexandra Reinhardt Memorial Award is now open.

The Award provides funds for a 12 week artist-in-residence project culminating in the creation of a public art installation. It aims to not only provide an opportunity to highlight and inspire artists but to work with people in a therapeutic way enabling them to interact in the making of an artwork. The 2010 ARMA will be run at The Art Room, Rose Hill Primary School, Oxford. The winning artist will produce a public art work within the Rosehill community and as part of the residency will develop a programme of workshops for children at The Art Room, Rose Hill Primary School and culminating in a family event hosted with Modern Art Oxford.

The residency will be run from May – August 2010. The Award is sponsored by the Max Reinhardt Charitable Trust.

The Art Room is a pioneering charity that works with young people experiencing difficulties at school, using art to improve their self-esteem, self-confidence and independence.
