Intern at Children & The Arts, The Princes Foundation for Children & The Arts

We are currently seeking a bright, enthusiastic and committed person to join our small team for 3 months at The Prince's Foundation for Children & the Arts, starting in October 2009. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a young children's education charity which aims to bring the arts, in all its many rich forms, to children in the UK who would not otherwise have the opportunity.

Key areas of work:

Communicating with arts partners and organisations in the arts industries around the UK.

Supporting the Project team in organising events and administration for art specific projects.

Assist the team in a variety of event and office based tasks to support the delivery of Fundraising & Development events.

Some administrative assistance for the Chief Executive.

Research:

Administrative duties including filing, updating database, assisting with monitoring event planning, draft thank you letters, assisting with responding to enquiries

Person specification:

Candidates must have some relevant work experience and be able to demonstrate their commitment to enabling children to gain experience of the arts.

A passion for inspiring and educating children by introducing them to the very best of the arts.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills Administrative and organisational skills, including experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook and Excel)

Good telephone manner and ability to take clear messages Willingness to undertake wide range of duties Motivated and dedicated team player with the ability to work under pressure A commitment to equal opportunity and diversity issues

The internship is 2-3 days a week and unpaid, however, we are able to cover reasonable travel and lunch expenses.
