All workshops are FREE but book on the day from 10.30am at the Theatre of Making Marquee to be sure of a place. Each craft workshop runs for about an hour. Anyone aged 5 years and over may participate, but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. This event is organised by The Making, craft education charity for the South East and is supported by Gunwharf Quays and Find Your Talent. Festive lanterns made by pupils from Cottage Grove Primary School in Southsea and Latin American rhythms will set the scene.

Hammer out your own Sun God medallion. Construct a chattering, whirly Rainforest bird or create or crocodile or condor in mosaic to display at home. Help to weave a giant Mexican pinata (sweet container) and come back at 4.15pm for the sweets. Learn to dance the samba or merengue. Make a festival mask to wear or a drum to play and join the Sambatida Community Samba Band for the Saturday Carnival parade at 5pm.
